Adult Day Care: A Good Lifestyle Choice for Caregivers of Adults

If you are caring for an adult child, parent or spouse, you understand the physical and emotional strain of being a caregiver.  The stress of caregiving responsibilities, on top of trying to hold down a job and keep the household running, often affect your mental and physical health and happiness.  You struggle with feelings of guilt for not being able to be everything they need all the time.  You’re doing everything you can to help them stay home as long as possible while trying to make sure they live their lives with dignity and respect.

You’re doing all you can, and now it’s time to ask for help.

The Baxter House Adult Day Care located in the middle of picturesque Cooper Park is designed to give caregivers a much needed break.  It’s a safe, loving environment that provides holistic health benefits to those in attendance.  It’s a place you can feel good about leaving you mother, father, husband, wife, daughter or son while you go to work, go shopping, or simply take a nap.  The staff provides a full day of engaging activities to participants.  Activities such as wellness and fitness programs, fun outings, and intergenerational activities are designed to engage the mind and keep the body active – a positive alternative to sitting at home and watching TV all day.

The staff of Baxter House Adult Day Care encourages you to come and visit for free – spend some time with them and you will see just how warm and inviting it is.

A perfect opportunity to do just that will be on December 21st from noon – 3 p.m. during their Christmas Open House.  Drop in to meet the staff, take a tour and register for door prizes.  Refreshments will be provided as you enjoy music performed by the Silver Mountain Strummers beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a performance by Santa at 2:00.

So encourage your friend or family member to take advantage of this little gem hidden in the heart of Mountain Home.
